UltraSonic Wind Sensor for SPIDER radio telescopes

Wind Sensor for SPIDER MarkII and INTREPID

for SPIDER MarkII and INTREPID

Wind sensor for SPIDER MarkII radio telescopes and INTREPID antenna systems allows to continuously read the wind speed for safety.: in this way, if the wind speed exceeds the safety speed, the antenna is automatically moved pointing the Zenith, in a safe position, thus reducing the wind load on the antenna.

The wind sensor for SPIDER MarkII radio telescopes and INTREPID antenna systems is composed of the sensor (which is installed outside, near the antenna) that measures wind speed and a pole support (pole not included).

The wind sensor for SPIDER MarkII and INTREPID connects directly to electronics of the antenna tracking system so it works independently of the control software and does not require a connection to the control room.
